I'm so excited to be your child's teacher this year. I strive to make every year better than the last. This summer i attended a conference on Writing Workshops lead by Katie Wood Ray, an amazing and inspirational leader in the field of young children's writing. This has given me so many new and educationally sound ideas and I just can't wait to get started. One of her driving ideas was for teachers to use published children's books to motivate our youngest writers to use qualities of good writing. And she gave me a good excuse to buy lots of new children's books, which is also one of my favorite things to buy!
