A little bit about me:

This is my seventh year teaching at Hartland High School. Courses that I have taught in the past include: Global Studies, American Literature, and US History.

I graduated from Brighton High School and went on to attend Central Michigan University along with Michigan State University. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Studies and English along with my Master of Arts Degree in Teaching and Curriculum from MSU. For the past few years I have been involved with a program that targets adolescent literacy called Reading Apprenticeship.

Some of my favorite quotes:

  • "Whether one deems our present society wondrous or awful or both, history reveals how we arrived at this point. Understanding our past is central to our ability to understand ourselves and the world around us.” ~ Lies My Teacher Told Me
  • "The past is intelligible to us only in the light of the present, as we can fully understand the present only in light of the past." ~ Edward Hallet Carr
  • "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams" ~ Eleanor Roosevelt
  • "Do or do not. There is no Try" ~Yoda
